Public Foundation Presents $20,900 In Grants To Summit

Two grants will help fund a bus service for senior citizens and the city's summer camp program.

The Summit Area Public Foundation recently presented two grants to the City of Summit.

Council President Richard Madden said the foundation has granted more than $1 million to various organizations in the past two years, including civic, community affairs, senior citizens, healthcare, education and the arts.

Foundation President John W. Cooper and Secretary Lyle Brehm presented a $12,500 grant to City Administrator Chris Cotter to continue the Senior Connections bus service. The other $8,400 grant will go towards the Department of Community Programs summer camp program for underprivileged children.
